| SUSA is up with their February 2009 numbers.
Republicans:
Bunning dips a bit deeper in the red as Kentucky continues to disapprove of Old Man Bunning. Independents' approve-disapprove of Bunning lags at 38-57 and even Republican approval is down to 45%.
Grassley remains stable and very safe.
Net approval has tightened a little, but Shelby remains miles from vulnerable.
Democrats:
Boxer's second worst month in Survey USA tracking history. Is it just an outlier? A precipitous drop from 52-38 to 43-47 would suggest an outlier since I can't think of anything she has done in the last month to warrant such a drop. We'll know next month.
Senator Feingold remains above 50% approval, but his numbers have taken a notable dip this month. Is it enough of a dip to encourage higher-profile Wisconsin Republicans like Paul Ryan to take a shot at the Senate seat?
Survey USA has begun polling on Senator Gillibrand, and she starts off with a +8 net approval, which is good, but with a quarter of respondents still "Not Sure," indicating that she still has much work to do to introduce herself to New York voters. That said, if you were to allocate that "Not Sure" chunk proportionally to Approve and Disapprove accordingly, she'd be at 55.4-44.6, not too shabby. Her focus should continue to be on a possible primary rather than on a potential Republican challenger.
Senator Murray's numbers remain stable and in safe territory.
Senator Schumer's approval among Republicans remains above 40%. Senator Schumer is the U.S. Senate's safest incumbent in 2010.
| Ron Wyden | Jan. '09 | Feb. '09 | | Approve | 62 | 57 | | Disapprove | 25 | 31 |
Senator Wyden remains quite safe. |
