There's less than one week to go. It's been a long campaign season, and it all culminates on Tuesday.
There are still many tight races in the Senate. There are five races where I think people's contributions will have the biggest impact, and all five races feature Democratic nominees on the Expand the Map! ActBlue page. So please give as generously as you can in this last week!
Getting Over the Hump
1) Georgia: Jim Martin has run an amazing campaign to bring this uphill battle into a statistical dead heat. He needs to break 50%, not just get a plurality, to avoid a run-off and to win outright. And we all know how vile Shameless Saxby Chambliss is. So please help him out!
2) Mississippi: Ronnie Musgrove has run a very strong campaign despite a cash disadvantage and a Republican Governor in Haley Barbour pulling out all the unethical stops to help the ethically questionable Roger Wicker. The race is very tight and could go either way. So please help him out!
Closing Strong
3) Alaska: You may have heard about Republican Ted Stevens' recent minor legal hiccup. But Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich still has to overcome the Alaskan institutions that is Ted Stevens' name, notwithstanding Stevens' legal downfall. The polls before the conviction announcement were tight, so we have yet to see what will happen for sure. So please help him out!
Keeping That Narrow Lead Up
4) North Carolina: Kay Hagan has run one of the strongest campaigns in the country against absentee Elizabeth Dole. Hagan has consistently kept a small lead on Dole in recent polling, but it's a very tight race and could truly come down to just a few thousand (or even a few hundred) votes. So please help her out!
5) Oregon: Jeff Merkley has the potential to be one of the strongest progressive voices in the U.S. Senate. And Merkley has hustled to overcome Republican Gordon Smith's numerous attempts to hide his Party affiliation and allegiance to George W. Bush. Merkley's been looking better in the polls lately, but he has to have an aggressive finish. So please help him out!
